Felony Defense
A felony is the most serious class of crime a person may be accused of. In Tennessee there are five classes of felony each with their own minimum and maximum punishments. The penalty for a felony conviction may include but is not limited to one (1) year to life in prison, mandatory fines, and the payment of restitution to any victims.

Felonies in Tennessee are categorized into five (5) classes A-E, with Class A being the most severe and Class E being the lease severe.

Class A

A possible sentence of 15 to 60 years in prison and

fines up to $50,000.
Class B

A possible sentence of 8 to 30 years in prison and

fines up to $25,000.
Class C

A possible sentence of 3 to 15 years in prison and

fines up to $10,000.
Class D
A possible sentence of 2 to 12 years in prison and
fines up to $5,000.
Class E
-
A possible sentence of 1 to 6 years in prison and

fines up to $3,000.
